LOOSE VAGINA; MYTH OR FACT?
When it comes to the vagina, there are a lot of myths and misconceptions. Some people, for example, believe that vaginas can lose their elasticity and become loose forever. That’s not actually true, though.
Your vagina is elastic. Your vagina may become slightly looser as you age or have children, but overall, the muscles expand and retract just like an accordion or a rubber band.
The myth of a “loose” vagina has historically been used as a way to shame women for their sex lives. After all, a “loose” vagina isn’t used to describe a woman who has a lot of sex with her partner. It’s primarily used to describe a woman who has had sex with more than one man.
But the truth is that it doesn’t matter who you have sex with or how often. Penetration won’t cause your vagina to stretch out permanently.
It’s important to know that a “tight” vagina may be a sign of an underlying concern, especially if you’re experiencing discomfort during penetration.
Your vaginal muscles naturally relax when you’re aroused. If you’re not turned on, interested, or physically prepared for intercourse, your vagina won’t relax, self-lubricate, and stretch.
Now, this is where the misconception comes in. A woman who has a higher libido (sex drive) will lubricate more and stretch more. This may make the partner feel like the vagina is loose whereas it is just 'over-prepared' for penetration. The high libido means these women have a high craving for sex, which leads to (most of of the times) many sexual partners.
Now, your vaginal muscles are held in place by the pelvic floor muscles (like a hand holding an elastic cup). If you want to reduce the size of the cup (vagina), you can squeeze on the hand holding it (pelvic floor muscles). Anything you put in that cup will not reduce its size. So, STOP INSERTING STUFF IN YOUR VAGINA TO TIGHTEN IT.
There are a lot of exercises that can help strengthen the pelvic floor and reduce the size of the vagina such as kegels, squats, vaginal cones, etc.
We have a detailed article on these exercises, which we will not post here (yet). If you need it, you contact us privately for it or on WhatsApp at +237 670486045.
